Battery Storage

We specialise in solar battery storage solutions for businesses & residential clients, helping you better manage your electrical consumption using renewable and associated technologies onsite. Battery storage lets your business be more flexible with the energy you generate from solar PV installations.

MACD offers a full turnkey solution for solar battery storage that includes analysing your existing systems and opportunities, specifying the right solutions. We have strong relationships with some of the world’s biggest technology brands that help us to deliver industry-leading energy storage solutions and expertise to your business. Batteries can be installed as part of a wider energy strategy with commercial solar PV or as a stand-alone solution that creates an additional income stream by providing a dynamic response service to the grid. A solar battery is intended to be used for commercial energy storage and stores electricity for solar self-consumption, time of use load shifting, backup power, and off-the-grid use.

Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging

MACD only install electric vehicle charging equipment that has been through our rigorous testing and due diligence. When it comes to EV charging, reliability is everything – so we only install EV chargers that we know will work and won’t let you down. Choosing the correct EV charger for your business can be confusing. Knowing which charging stations, connectors and cable types depends entirely on your needs and the needs of your customers. Speak to us today to find out which EV solution is best for you.

LED Lighting

Switching to low energy light bulbs is one of the easiest ways to reduce your carbon footprint. We are increasingly seeing LED lighting replace conventional lighting in homes, offices, warehouses and street lighting due to their efficiency and low energy.

Our team can help you choose the most efficient bulbs for your property. Contemporary LED bulbs use up to 90% less energy than standard light bulbs and are tested and manufactured to EU standards to ensure that they are safe and efficient, helping to lower the energy required to power them and reducing your carbon footprint.

LED lighting can also help with achieving a high scoring Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) – essential for new build properties.

Solar Panel Maintenance & Monitoring

The solar panel system has there main components; the roof mounting kit, solar panels, and the inverter(s). The solar panels and roof mounting are exposed to the elements of the UK climate with wind exerting pressure on the mechanical integrity of the PV system, and the rain impacting both the panel’s electrical string connections and the roof seals under the mounting system.

The inverters are the working part of the solar PV system, receiving and converting the sunlight energy into useable AC electricity and thus part of your electrical compliance regime. The safe and effective working of the entire solar PV system determines the electricity generated and the return received on your solar PV investment.

Our preventative solar panel maintenance plan is designed to help you achieve and maximise your solar PV investment return, and to help with your risk management as part of your annual electrical compliance regime. Like the MOT of your vehicles, we recommend annual solar panel maintenance for all commercial PV systems in addition to daily monitoring software. Sophisticated solar panel monitoring can automatically prompt any potential generation issues straight away to allow immediate rectification from a maintenance engineer before they become bigger, more expensive problems.

Solar Panel Service & Repair

Without a preventative maintenance plan in place, you run the risk of a potential breakdown, requiring the need for an urgent solar panel service or repair to identify the issue and bring your system back online safely. This reactive approach can be expensive and leave your business without PV generation whilst our team arrive onsite to diagnose/repair the problem.

When your system is offline or not able to operate to its maximum potential due to a fault, this downtime is impacting on your system’s return on investment. If a fault is anticipated, we advise that you don’t diagnose the fault yourself for health and safety reasons. Always contact your solar PV installer or O&M provider first for advice.

We are available to provide a reactive solar panel service and repair, however, we always recommend a preventative maintenance plan as highlighted above.

Consultancy

Installing a solar system is a significant investment. Whether you are installing a utility scale solar park or a roof-top system, MACD’s team of expert consultants will ensure that you make the wisest investment decision from the outset. MACD’s specialists will use their skills and industry knowledge to ensure that your decision continues to pay off in the longer term.

Through the earlier stages of a project, MACD can offer feasibility and resource assessments to determine if designated sites are suitable for solar installations. If multiple sites are available, MACD can then carry out further assessments to select the most appropriate.

Once a site has been selected and a project proposed, MACD will guide the client through the planning application process, advising on how best to get a project approved. Similar services are offered at a later stage for DNO applications and financial incentive or subsidy applications.

Voltage Optimisers

Voltage optimisation is an energy saving technology that is installed in series with the main electricity supply to systematically optimise, regulate and clean the incoming power to bring the voltage supplied into a building in line with what is required by equipment, machinery and appliances. Voltage optimisation is beneficial when the electricity supply to a site is at a higher voltage level than needed, resulting in excessive energy consumption and high electricity bills. We have our offices supplied at 248V and our systems run at 210V with our Voltage Optimiser saving us money every day.
